ACTIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUE ETOBICOKE
We offer Active Release Technique in Etobicoke if you’re suffering from the result of overuse and fatigued muscles.
A.R.T. ( Active Release Technique) is considered the gold standard treatment for soft tissue injuries. It treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia & nerves. Headache, shoulder pain, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, tennis elbow, shin splints, Achilles & ITB syndrome are a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly with A.R.T. All these conditions have one important thing in common, they are often a result of overuse and fatigued muscles.

WHAT IS A.R.T. TREATMENT?

Our physiotherapy treatment plan is based on our evaluation of the texture, tightness, and movement of your soft tissues, i.e. your muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments, and nerves. Each A.R.T. session is based on your individual treatment needs that are assessed during each examination. Our A.R.T. treatment relies on the identification of tissue abnormalities and treating it by applying direct tension with very specific patient movements. A.R.T. has over 500 unique movement techniques used to assess and identify each patient’s condition and help prescribe an individualized treatment plan.
A.R.T. is a very effective treatment plan for long-standing, difficult cases where traditional therapies fail to get the expected results. It is particularly useful for adhesions that have trapped nerves such as carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica, and migraine-related headaches. A.R.T. has proven to be very useful in the treatment of acute injuries, as our physiotherapists work on surrounding tissues to decrease the stress on the injured muscle. In later sessions, they work on the injury site to maximize the quality of the stabilizing scar tissue and minimize the injury. A.R.T. is also very important for joint conditions. Adhesions limit the muscle’s ability to lengthen which alters the biomechanics of the joint. This can significantly decrease the mobility of the joint or create abnormal motion which further causes wear and tear on the joint.
